Iomedae Save Me …………. 2

It has been a few days since I last wrote in my journal. I am still on this infernal isle. Progress was slow, but needed to be to ensure we are thorough and methodical of our clearance of the island. We located a suitable camp location to move the Jenivere survivors to. On the return journey to the current camp we came across a recently abandoned camp that Jenivere member of the party recognised as being inhabited by their ship’s captain and one of the passengers. They were nowhere to be found and the suspicions were raised that foul plots were afoot.

We returned to current camp and met the four remaining Jenivere passengers. A gnome with a rather nasty and vindictive tongue Gelik, a female “reformed” assassin called Sasha, a Tiany human called Ishirou and Jask who was travelling on the Jenivere as prisoner, but the documents I recovered from the Brine Demon exonerated him. My gift from Iomedae told me that none of these people were evil either, but nonetheless I will ensure I keep a close eye on them.

Jask was extremely grateful and taught the party some very effective meditation techniques that help to focus the mind. In exchange for the dimorphodon eggs, Sasha also offered to teach the party some of her dubious assassin techniques. I felt somewhat uncomfortable, even though in themselves the techniques were not evil so I sat these lessons out. I cannot say the same for my colleagues who eagerly sought out the knowledge. I hope they do not employ them in their intended purpose.  The final gift/boon we were given was a reputed treasure map from Ishirou on the condition he receives a share of any treasure recovered.

After a couple days recuperation from the various afflictions we were suffering from, including a horrific twelve hour bout of red ache that left me significantly weakened, we set off to conduct a more reconnaissance of the island, though in reality it was an excursion to search for treasure.

Along our roundabout route we came across another abandoned shelter. It looked like the occupants had met with an unpleasant end as the shelter had been desecrated with an unholy tribute of blood and teeth painted onto the walls. I reluctantly translated the infernal scrawl for my compatriots. They were nothing but rambling of some deranged lunatics. It is likely that it was the work of the islands cannibals. They need to be delivered Iomedae’s justice and mercy without delay.

Turned out the map was accurate and we recovered not only a chest buried beneath the top of a hill, but also dispatched two ghouls that had been imprisoned in the cavern. Was a good job by Ron and Szraiel to dispatch them as efficiently as they did, perhaps there is hope them. Maybe Iomedae can save them after all.
