Szraiel, a wanderer lost in his own mind
One of the Jeniveres crew Szraiel is often found up in the rigging keeping lookout and lounging in his travelling outfit. When not on duty he likes talking to passengers who have seen much, listening to stories or discussing languages and lore from across the world. On this trip he is mostly seen chatting to Gelik Aberwhinge the ever talkative gnome or the bookish varisian Ieana. His growing curiosity about the prisoner Jask Derindi is bound to get him into trouble. A consummate archaeologist: Tall and pale unlike the dark skinned humans of this infested land.
Why does he travel, for what does he search, what hides behind those conventional human looks and o so human eyes?
Not quite knowing what he seeks, he seeks, drawn inexorably to the ancient jungles where scaled ones slumber. He must avoid their taint if they awake if he is to achieve a legacy fit for one of the old blood.
Eons ago there were five progenitor races. Of these the only ones to civilize themselves were the sauroids.
Now almost extinct these ancient, and by modern standards ‘evil’, creatures once, eons past, built and maintained empires across most of the continents. Before the rise of the aberrant hordes, aquatic and insane evils from primordial worlds, they ruled.
Well before the current humanoids histories of god kings, rune lords and devil blooded rulers they controlled it all.
Born with the hunger of the world serpent yet as an orphan without a link to its collective mind- now fractured and corrupt. He is without knowledge and yet without the need to wallow on past glories and black lotus memories. With no dependence on others for luxury, that causes all societies and people to spiral into weakness and abomination, he strives to reclaim what he feels he has shed and become complete with his Akasha.

ReplyDeleteThe spelling of Szraiel is a pain to remember when writing journals!
